2001 - Present: President of Comply America, V.P. Edgewater Holdings

Comply America: responsible for marketing, sales, management and technical content of discrimination prevention training program. Clients include; Practicing Law Institute, American Express, Hitachi, CBIC and other fortune 1000 companies etc.

Edgewater Holdings: An MGU that specializes in underwriting executive lines on a national basis, Kevin is responsible for underwriting and managing EPLI program business.

Accomplishments:

Clients include; California Medical Association, California Optometrist association, Defense Research Institute, Minnesota Bar Association  just to name a few.  

Established training program credibility by securing endorsements from Practicing Law Institute, EEOC and Federal Courts

1995- 2001: Vice-President of Claims, TIG Insurance Co., Dallas, Texas

Responsible for management of two company divisions generating over $600 million in written premiums.  Lines of business included; Professional Liability, General liability, Product liability. The claim management team consisted of twelve senior analysts and over twenty- five internal and external claim offices. Responsibilities included technical file quality, management of large losses, customer claim services, management of operating budget and financial results.

1994-1995:  Executive Claims Manager, TIG Insurance Co., Phoenix, Arizona.

Responsible for all aspects of budget and management concerning the company’s property, casualty and WC claim center, servicing the Western United States. The office employed over ninety claim professionals.  

1992-1994:  Director of Claims, CIGNA Insurance (P&C) Philadelphia Pennsylvania Responsible for file quality nationally and the development of best practices.  Designed and implemented specialized work flows delivering a competitive advantage.

1990-1992 Casualty Claims Manager, CIGNA Insurance (P&C) Sacramento, California Managed the commercial auto and general liability claims department including construction defect for northern California.  Directed staff of fifty claim professionals received national award for excellence.

1985 - 1990 Claims Manager, CIGNA, (INA, ALPAC), Anchorage, Alaska

Responsible for claim quality, budget and staff of thirty-five. Managed the casualty claims generated during the Alaska pipeline years.

Mark Kollar currently serves as President and Underwriter for Edgewater Holdings, Ltd., a managing General Agency and consulting firm founded by Mr. Kollar in 1991. Edgewater is a pioneer in the introduction and development of a stand-alone employment practice liability policy. Under the direction of Kollar, Edgewater underwrites individual accounts of all sizes but also concentrates on developing programs for affinity groups including Auto Dealers, Restaurants, Medical Offices and Law Firms. They have the endorsement of the California Medical Association and the Nebraska Bar Association, the California Pharmacists Association and many others. Edgewater underwrites exclusively on behalf of the Beazley Group. 

Kollar is a founder and director of the Employment Practices Risk Management Association (EPRMA), a non-profit association domiciled in the state of Illinois dedicated to research and development of risk management techniques for businesses associated with the exposure to employee lawsuits by employees for discrimination, harassment, and other alleged wrongful employment practices.

Edgewater also is a certified continuing education provider offering seminars to insurance agents and risk managers across the country. In addition Edgewater serves as a vendor for Comply America internet-based sexual harassment prevention training and Compliance Partners Inc. employee handbook management systems. Edgewater also acts as an intermediary arranging Facultative Reinsurance and consulting for Insurers, Risk Retention Groups, Pools and Associations

Mr. Kollar has presented at the ACI EPLI Conference held in New York in January 2002. He has been a featured speaker at the Tillinghast Directors and Officers Liability Seminar (formerly Watson Wyatt). He is a featured presenter at Continuing Education seminars for Insurance Agents and Brokers including the NAIW, and the Florida Insurance Agents Association. He has conducted loss control Seminars for the National Medical Transportation Association, National Bankers Association and other affiliated groups.

TRANSCO SYNDICATE #1

1983 to 1991

Vice President of TCO Insurance Services and was Transco's Underwriting Manager at the Illinois Insurance Exchange.  His duties included the coordination of inter-syndicate relations including underwriting projects and lead/follow placements. As underwriting manager for Chicago from 1985 to 1991 he managed a book of over 147 million in premium. Since 1985, he had personally underwritten a book exclusively for the Exchange of over 40 million with an underwriting profit for every year. He underwrote all types of commercial casualty business on a primary and an excess basis. His concentration included primary general liability on manufacturers and contractors and also errors and omissions coverages both on a primary and excess basis. He served three terms as the President of the Illinois Insurance Exchange Underwriters Association. He has participated as a featured speaker at several national seminars including the Colorado "I" Day.

AM-RE BROKERS 

1980 to 1983 

Served as an Umbrella Underwriter for American Excess Insurance Company, which was a subsidiary of American Re. He was responsible for production and underwriting for five (5) Midwestern states including Kentucky, Missouri, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin and Minnesota.  In 1983 subsequent to the purchase of American Re Insurance by AETNA this direct facility was absorbed into the parent company. This company concentrated on umbrella and excess policies for manufacturers, hospitals, professionals, and contractors.

Mr. Kollar began his career as a Casualty Primary Lines Underwriter and was trained extensively in general liability, auto liability and workers compensation in the Chicago branch.  He completed several in-house company training courses including Industrial Hygiene, Loss Control & Engineering, and Casualty Underwriting as well as completing the INS Series.  Chosen to participate in the umbrella underwriting program called EXCEL and was the designated Umbrella Underwriter for the Chicago branch.

Greg Potteiger, Chief Technology Officer


Mr. Potteiger, Comply America's Chief Technology Officer, is a 1989 graduate of the U. S. Naval Academy. After graduation, Mr. Potteiger served aboard the USS Salt Lake City, a nuclear powered fast attack submarine, and on a staff in Washington DC, where he worked with leadership in the Navy, Army and Air Force on manning issues for the Joint Staffs around the world. In 1994, he moved to Rockville, MD and joined Kaiser Permanente. During the next four years, he worked in a variety of technology management positions within an overall IT infrastructure budgeted at in excess of $1 billion of technology investments. As a senior IT Project Manager, he led the development of numerous web based applications used nationally, with a user base of approximately 100,000 employees. He also spearheaded business planning and knowledge management initiatives. During this time, Mr. Potteiger also attended the University of Maryland, attaining an MBA and a Masters Degree in Information Systems.

In 1999, Mr. Potteiger founded BowWave Technology, an Internet application services company specializing in web and wireless technologies. BowWave successfully delivers IT services both pre-built applications and consulting services to numerous clients. In early 2000, he was recruited by Xbond and served as their Director of Technology Integration for financial technology startup. He led the development team on their initial product offering X-OS - an XML-based bond trading platform.
